Zvizdić, after the meeting with the delegation of the Croatian Government, led by Plenković, said to journalists that Croatia for many years is among five most important trading partners of BiH and among five most important investors in BiH, which clearly defines relations on the level of economic cooperation.
“Our talks were related to these two key segments. This is a further European path of BiH and economic development and cooperation with our immediate neighbors, that is, with Croatia and the whole of the EU,” said Zvizdić, adding that Croatia was indeed a very constructive advocate of the European path of BiH.
He announced that in the near future, most likely by the end of the year, will be held a joint session of the Council of Ministers and the Croatian Government on which will be a number of issues that are extremely important for relations and for further improvement of good neighborly relations.
Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said that the fact that the new Croatian Government is in office for eight days and on the eighth day in Sarajevo the confirmation of the election promise that BiH for Croatia will be a foreign policy priority.
“We came as friends with the ambition to, in time to come, achieve stable and partnership political cooperation, progress in economic cooperation. BiH for Croatia will be a foreign policy priority number one. I say this with full responsibility. Especially when it comes to the European path of BiH. We have shown how it can help when you are part of the EU and when unreservedly with the best intentions you want to help and concretely help BiH. We came as friends, and with the ambition to, in time to come, achieve a stable political cooperation. That is why we want that a session of the Government is reference in terms of an agreement on future cooperation,” said Plenković.
He added they want to help the Euro-Atlantic path of BiH with all their capacity.
“Also, we want to help the Euro-Atlantic path. We have a strong position and excellent experts and in that way we want to help BiH. At the same time as the Prime Minister of Croatia of course I will show special interest and concern to the equality of all constituent peoples. The full cooperation will be to our mutual satisfaction and we want to contribute to the quality cooperation”.
On one of the journalists’ questions related to the adoption of the electoral law in BiH, he said: “The adoption of the electoral law is a matter of BiH, its parties and institutions. We are here to help, but primarily the responsibility is on them”.
Plenković also emphasized that Croatia is a friend of BiH and will “treat BiH like a partner”.
