Montenegro today openes two chapters of the acquis

Montenegro will today, at the Intergovernmental Conference which will be held in Brussels, open negotiations in Chapters 11 – Agriculture and Rural Development and 19 – Social Policy and Employment, Montenegrin Ministry of European Affairs announced.

“Montenegro’s state delegation will be led by the Minister of European Affairs Aleksandar Andrija Pejović. Other members of the delegation will be acting Director General for European Affairs at the Ministry of European Affairs and Secretary of the Negotiating Team Miodrag Radović, Head of the Mission of Montenegro to the EU Ambassador Bojan Šarkić, as well as members of the Negotiating Group responsible for chapters 11 and 19, Director General for Agriculture and Fisheries in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural development Danijela Stolica and the Head of the Directorate for European integration, programming and implementation of EU funds in the Ministry of Labour and social Welfare, Ljiljana Simović“, Ministry added.

Opening of the chapters, they stated, was preceded by a dedicated and intense work of the institutions to align with European regulations and standards in these areas.

According to estimates from the European Commission, Montenegro has achieved a good level of alignment and administrative capacity necessary for the opening of negotiations in two chapters.
