TIRANA – Assembly of Albania urges Maltese Presidency of the Council of the European Union to focus on the bloc’s enlargement process in Albania and other countries in the region, reports ATA news agency.
A meeting of the heads of the parliamentary committees on European integration and foreign policy took place in Malta on Sunday in the framework of the Maltese rotating presidency of the EU, ATA reports.
The meeting focused on the priorities of the Maltese presidency on migration, EU single market, security, social inclusion, Europe’s neighbourhood, maritime sector, as well as on the European Commission’s Commission Work Programme for 2017 presented by the First Vice-President of the European Commission, Frans Timmermans.
Albanian Parliament was represented by Arta Dade, chairwoman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs, and Majlinda Bregun, chairwoman of the Committee on European Integration, ATA informs.
