TANJUG_maliBELGRADE – The EU looks forward to Serbia’s accession, EU foreign policy and security chief Federica Mogherini said in the Serbian parliament Friday, highlighting Serbia’s role as a key country in a delicate region under growing pressure, Tanjug reports.
“Not only is the door of the EU wide open for Serbia – we look forward to welcoming you inside our community. This is not a distant dream – this is a concrete process we are together working on.”

“I believe our Union will not be complete as long as Serbia and all the W. Balkans do not join our family.”

“The impressive progress of Serbia and of all the W. Balkans is endangered by a growing sense of uncertainty in the world and in the region.”

“The pressure on this delicate region is growing… Without peace and without reconciliation, progress in any other field is at risk, first of all, in the field of the economy,” she said.
