WASHINGTON – Within his working visit to the United States, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Srđan Darmanović met Friday with Chairman of the Montenegrin caucus, Congressman Doug Lamborn, and senators Ben Cardin, Ron Johnson and Marco Rubio, respectively, it is stated by the Montenegrin Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“Senators welcomed the perspective completion of the procedures of ratifying the Protocol on the Accession of Montenegro to NATO in the US Senate, which is scheduled for next week, emphasising that Montenegro’s membership will bring a higher level of stability and security to the Western Balkan region,” the Ministry stated.

Minister Darmanović thanked the US Congress for its persistent support for Montenegro, hopeful that relations between the two countries will be further enhanced by new cooperation mechanisms within NATO.
