Albanian opposition and PM Rama ready for dialogue on technical government

ata_maliTIRANA – The Democratic Party (DP) has convened a meeting Tuesday of the opposition coalition to confirm that the only way out of the crisis is the formation of a technical government of broad political support that will work for creating the conditions for free and fair elections, writes a press statement of the DP. On the other hand, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama emphasized his readiness for the dialogue via his Facebook page, ATA reports.

The statement writes that “welcoming the step that the Socialist Movement for Integration (SMI) took last evening for becoming part of the solution of the grave political crisis in the country, the opposition coalition reconfirms its readiness for beginning of the political dialogue on the technical government and calls on Edi Rama to give up his conditions and put the interests of the country and of the Albanian citizens over the personal interests of his power.”

Likewise, the opposition coalition expresses the full readiness to work with all the political forces without any prejudice for formation of the technical government, give it a strong mandate for the full implementation of the decriminalization law, efficient fight against narcotics and trafficking, organized crime and drugs money, the preparation of free and fair elections, implementation of reform in the judiciary, according to the constitutional guidelines of July 22.”

“This is the only guarantee for holding free and fair elections in which the Albanians vote in a free way, get elected freely and their vote doesn’t get annihilated,” is written in the DP.

While addressing to Democratic Party leader Lulzim Basha, Prime Minister Rama expressed his readiness to dialogue whenever DP would dialogue about anything, anywhere.

PM Rama reiterated he was ready for the dialogue whenever PD was willing to discuss about anything, anytime, anywhere even setting the place themselves.”
