TANJUG_maliBELGRADE – At a working dinner with Western Balkan PMs two days ago, EU foreign policy and security chief Federica Mogherini made an offer for the Western Balkans to become an “EU outpost”, Belgrade’s Vecernje novosti reports.
According to the report, Mogherini also conveyed the EU’s readiness not to obstruct the accession process politically before its completion, but noted that exact timeframes for admission of new member states could not be specified, mostly due to the numerous problems within the EU itself.

The move is a result of a need to calm nerves in the Western Balkans, rattled mostly by a sentiment that European integration of the region has been completely sidetracked.

The meeting was also aimed to overcome current negative developments in the region, Novosti reported.
