TIRANA – Parliament of Albania will be convened on Saturday in an extraordinary session by Parliament Speaker Ilir Meta to vote the candidates for institutions that will conduct the transitory vetting of the Albanian judges and prosecutors, ATA reports.

The vetting institutions include Independent Committee of Qualification, Ad-Hoc Chamber of Appeals and public commissioners.

Parliament will hold two plenary sessions on Saturday. The first which will be held at 10:00 hrs will approve the new DP member of AdHoc Commission of 12 members to replace the lawmaker Jorida Tabaku.

Completion of this commission paves the way for voting procedure of the candidates for Independent Committee of Qualification and Public Commissioner. The vote of these bodies was postponed for Friday after falling short on the quorum.

Selection of candidates for these bodies along with candidates picked for the Chamber of Appeals two days ago will be referred for vote to the plenary session slated at around 14:00.

Another item on Saturday’s agenda is the swearing- in ceremony of the new People’s Advocate, Erinda Ballanca, elected by parliament a few weeks ago at the proposal of opposition.
