Brnabić meets with Merkel in Trieste

TRIESTE – Serbian PM Ana Brnabić met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the fringes of the Western Balkans Six Summit in Trieste late Wednedsay.

Brnabić and Merkel discussed Serbia’s European integration, the steps being taken on the path towards EU membership and the results of economic reforms and fiscal consolidation over the past period.

Regional cooperation among Western Balkan states and Serbia’s role in this process were also discussed.

Brnabić and Merkel agreed that digitisation, kick-starting innovation and start-ups could offer a new perspective to Western Balkan countries.
