Pacolli: Kosovo has enough votes to join UNESCO

Kosovo Foreign Minister Behgjet Pacolli claims that Kosovo has provided enough votes for UNESCO membership, but it is necessary to pass two laws on religious equality before, reports Koha.net

Pacolli, who is in the Pristina delegation at the UN General Assembly, told Interaktiv KTV that he had secured new voices for Kosovo’s membership in UNESCO after series of meetings in the US.

“As you know, Kosovo has to sign up for UNESCO, although it’s pretty late. It’s been a lot of time and a little has been done.  I also studied the strategy and the way in which the votes were secured, and I am encouraged to say that we will have enough votes for UNESCO. Today we had a very important meeting with a friendly country that recognized Kosovo and talked with them, practically they guaranteed between 15 and 20 votes for Kosovo in UNESCO” said Pacolli.
