BELGRADE – Serbia can realistically expect to open three chapters in its EU accession talks by the end of the year, but the optimistic approach would be to expect we can open one or two more, because we are prepared, says Serbian European Integration Minister Jadranka Joksimović.

Speaking on an RTS talk show on Thursday, she said Serbia had prepared three negotiating positions: for Chapter 6 – Company Law, Chapter 33 – Financial and Budgetary Provisions and Chapter 30 – External Relations.

“A few days ago we completed all procedures for Chapter 9 – Financial Services and we sent the negotiating position to the European Commission. At today’s government session we adopted the negotiating position for Chapter 13 – Fisheries,” she said.

Four negotiating positions are completely ready while one is in the procedure, she said.
