Nimetz: Dispute may be solved by next year, but there is no new name

After so many years, a new name is not going to magically appear, said the mediator in the name dispute with Greece, Matthew Nimetz after the meeting in Brussels with the negotiators of Macedonia and Greece, Vasko Naumovski and Adamantios Vasilakis. “The solution will be found with political will and good diplomacy,” said Nimetz said, adding that the name issue could be resolved next year. The mediator stressed that the climate for the dispute settlement has improved in both Greece and Macedonia, but he did not want to reveal what proposals were discussed at the meeting, which comes after a three-year break.
