Rama: We demand the opening of EU accession negotiations

TIRANA – Albania’s EU membership represents the self-protection from the ghosts of the past, guaranteeing that in the future the government will not face again the difficulties of the past, the Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama stated during an interview for the British public service broadcaster, BBC.

Prime Minister Edi Rama emphasized that the Albanian government is demanding the opening of negotiations, which are not a cost to the EU, but so vital for us.

Regarding EU membership and enlargement of the Union, the Albanian Prime Minister Rama stated that “for the moment we want the opening of negotiations with the EU”.
