WASHINGTON – Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn met with international partners in Washington to engage on a wide range of issues such as Western Balkans, European Neighbourhood Policy and how to tackle global challenges.

On the second day in Washington, visiting Atlantic Council he talked about Western Balkans strategy. “Our shared goal on both sides of Atlantic is to stabilize the region and bring all Western Balkans Six countries into EU. That is in our geopolitical self-interest”, said Hahn.

Hahn pointed out that EU credibility is on the line. “We must be very firm but fair and give credit when & where it’s due. Not sticking to commitments means losing leverage”, he concluded.
