GLOBSEC Bratislava Forum to discuss the Western Balkans

BRATISLAVA – Defence and security, Democracy and Disconnect, Digital Future, Future of Europe and Sustainability and Global Economy, will be the main topics of the 14th edition of GLOBSEC Bratislava Forum.

This three-day forum that starts on Thursday, June 6 will gather 100 speakers from 65 countries to discuss European integration, defence and security in the transatlantic sphere, technology as a benefactor and a threat, sustainable societies and, finally, challenges to democracy and liberal order.

The Forum will be divided into five topics – Defence and security, Democracy and Disconnect, Digital Future, Future of Europe and Sustainability and Global Economy.

How will the EU’s political landscape change after the EP elections and what consequences will that have, and how can the EU maintain good relations with Western Balkan countries as well as with the UK post-Brexit will be the topics of the Future of Europe stream.

Some of the speakers of this stream will be Aleksandar Vučić, President of Serbia, Milo Đukanović, President of Montenegro, Angelina Eichhorst, Deputy Managing Director for Europe and Central Asia, Director for Western Europe, Western Balkans and Turkey at the European External Action Service, Ekaterina Zaharieva, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, Péter Sziijártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Michel Barnier, EU Chief Negotiator for the United Kingdom Exiting the EU, and Majlinda Bregu, Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council.

Also, it is announced that President of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi will take part at the conference.
