BELGRADE / PRISTINA – Special Envoy of the President of the United States for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Richard Grenell will meet with the President of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi and the leader of the Vetëvendosje! party Albin Kurti in Pristina today, media outlets report.

On Thursday, Grenell will visit Belgrade, where he will meet with the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić.

According to US Ambassador to Kosovo Philip Kosnett, Special Representative of the United States for the Western Balkans Matthew Palmer will also be visiting Kosovo.

Grenell and Palmer have already discussed the situation in the region with the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Berlin, Kosnett tweeted.

Palmer is scheduled to participate in Belgrade Security Forum next week.

Grenell was appointed by the President of the United States Donald Trump last Thursday, in what has been described as a surprising move given the recent appointment of Palmer.

The alleged close ties between Grenell and former National Security Adviser John Bolton have been interpreted as a potential signal of support for a change of borders.
