Hearing of Commissioner-designate for Enlargement Oliver Várhelyi on 14 November

BRUSSELS – European Parliament hearing of the Commissioner-designate for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Oliver Várhelyi, nominated by the Government of Hungary, will take place on 14 November, EWB finds out. This was decided by the Conference of Presidents of the EP (EP President and leaders of political groups) today. Hearings of the remaining two Commissioners-designate from France and Romania will also take place on the same day. Candidates from all three countries are replacements of the original choices made by their national governments. EP is set to vote for the new European Commission as a whole on 27 November. Despite speculations, Hungarian nominee is set to keep the enlargement portfolio.
