SARAJEVO – EU Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Johann Sattler met with BiH Presidency Member Šefik Džaferović to discuss current COVID-19 situation, Radio Sarajevo reported.

Džaferović and Sattler said that BiH institutions had responded in a timely manner and were taking a number of measures that should help prevent the spread of the virus.

„Ambassador Sattler stressed that in the past, the EU has always been with BiH in crisis situations, as was the case in the floods that hit the country in 2014,“ stated in Presidency statement. Sattler emphasized that EU assistance will not be missed this time and that the EU General Secretariat for Health is considering supporting BiH.

The interlocutors agreed that the pandemic of the coronavirus is a specific challenge for all countries and that in addition to timely decisions by each state, it was necessary for each person to adhere to the instructions of the experts and to contribute to the prevention of responsible behaviour.
