Roth: Belgrade as European capital of tolerance

TANJUG_maliBELGRADE – Belgrade was a European capital of diversity, freedom, equality and respect on Sunday, Minister of State for Europe at the German Federal Foreign Office Michael Roth said in Belgrade late on Sunday commenting on the Pride Parade.

He underscored that he was glad to have had the chance to take part in the Pride Parade in Belgrade on Sunday as a representative of the German government.

It is important for the EU to once more underline the essence of its existence, especially in these days and weeks, Roth said and added that the EU is not only a unified market, but also a community of values, democracies and rule of law, and respect towards different religions and ethnic minorities constitutes the core of European identity.
