BELGRADE – The future of Serbian citizens lies in the EU and the new government will continue to work actively on bringing Serbia closer to the European family as soon as possible, Serbian PM Ana Brnabić said during a meeting with the new head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Sem Fabrizi.

Serbia is a great partner of the EU both in the region and beyond, Fabrizi said, adding that he is looking forward to continuing close cooperation.

He said he would continue to support political and economic reforms and acceleration of Serbia’s EU path.

Brnabić said she would continue to contribute to regional stability and cooperation, as well as cherishing the European values. Brnabić added that she would continue to support Serbia’s further economic recovery to enable it to become a full EU member in the future, the Serbian government said in a statement.
