EU Director for Western Balkans Jean-Eric Paquet in visit to Montenegro

PODGORICA – The Director for Western Balkans at the European Commission (Directorate-General for European Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations – DG NEAR), Mr Jean-Eric Paquet, will pay an official visit to Montenegro on 13-14 September 2015. During his visit, Mr Paquet will co-chair the 9th Joint Monitoring Committee on the EU Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA), together with H.E. Ambassador Aleksandar Andrija Pejovic, State Secretary for European Integration and National IPA Coordinator.

On the occasion of his visit Mr Paquet will ceremonially open the Blood Transfusion Institute in Podgorica, co-funded by the European Union through the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance, together with the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Mr Milo Djukanovic, on 14 September.

During his last visit to Montenegro in February 2015, Mr Paquet visited the border crossing point Bozaj between Montenegro and Albania that will be expanded with the financial support of the European Union, as part of the policy of the EU to improve inter-connectivity between countries of the Western Balkans.
