BRUSSELS – European Union expects Montenegro to resolve current political situation, so that it can continue making progress in the implementation of reforms necessary for the EU integration process, said the Spokesperson for EU Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Maja Kosijančič.
She told the daily newspaper Dnevne Novine that the parliamentary debate dedicated to a vote of confidence in the government of Montenegro, was carefully monitored within the EU.
According to her, the debate provided the opportunity for MPs to express their views.
Kosijančič also stated that the vote of confidence initiative is an internal issue of Montenegro and a normal feature of a parliamentary democracy.
“We expect that Montenegro will find a solution to the current political situation so that its institutions can continue making progress in implementing reforms necessary for the process of Montenegro’s accession to the European Union”, she said.
