PRISTINA – Gen. Phillip Breedlove, NATO supreme allied commander Europe, has said during a visit to Pristina that Kosovo had to talk the issue of transforming the Kosovo Security Force into armed forces over with their neighbors and NATO would oversee the process.

We have said we will oversee the transformation of the Kosovo Security Force into the armed forces of Kosovo. Our position on this is that it is an issue that Kosovo needs to talk about with their neighbors, said Breedlove, adding that NATO was ready to offer support in the form of training, reports Voice of America.

Breedlove told a joint press conference with the KFOR commander on Thursday that KFOR would remain in Kosovo as long as necessary.

During his visit to Pristina, Breedlove also met with Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga and Prime Minister Isa Mustafa.
