Judicial reform/ plenary session set to be convened at 21:00

ata_maliTIRANA  – The ad hoc committee on judicial reform is expected to meet immediately to officially pass the draft on constitutional changes, paving the way for its approval in plenary session.

Meanwhile, the plenary session interrupted at around 12:00 will resume at 21:00, thus, the judicial reform will be passed within the day.

After discussions of more than 7 hours in the Assembly Presidency, US Ambassador Donald Lu and European Union Ambassador Romana Vlahutin left the premises, without communicating to the media.

Deputy Prime Minister, Niko Peleshi welcomed the agreement reached, saying that “in two hours we will vote by consensus on judicial reform. Henceforth, challenge of its implementation lies ahead”, Peleshi said.

He also announced that 7 draft laws, known as the emergency package, are slated to be adopted next week.
