meta_maliSKOPJE – In its analysis “The People Have Decided” the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) of the ruling German conservative party CDU, led by chancellor Angela Merkel, has expressed severe criticism for the non-democratic behavior of its “sister” party in Macedonia – VMRO-DPMNE because of its refusal to reform itself, the ignoring of the state institutions and because of the criticism towards foreign ambassadors.

The analysis, signed by Johannes Rey, states that the elections, even though they were so far the freest and most democratic did not bring political stability but on the contrary in the past few days are an example of ”non-democratic behavior par excellence.”

“The crisis in the country has no end. The consequences can turn into riots”, write Rey.

The analysis is sending a series of critics towards VMRO-DPMNE, where it is stated that with the loss of 19 MP seats “the voters have sent a clear signal for changes, a signal that VMRO-DPMNE is not accepting”.

Further, the writing criticizes the creation of a “hostile image” towards foreigner by VMRO-DPMNE.

“The forthcoming weeks will be exciting, starting from local elections during spring to a more open fight for supremacy and anything is possible. No one can guarantee that it will remain calm. While ordinary people watch angrily from the side, the atmosphere among the members of all parties is very strained.

Party leaders have the obligation to be restrained in their rhetoric, to act calmly in front of their supporters and not to bury the legitimacy of the state institutions. With the great expectancy at the elections, the voters showed their maturity and with their voice have asked for changes in the political establishment. But, their wish for political stability and normality is still not respected. Personal interests are put in front of the benefit for the community. Macedonia is stepping even deeper into crisis” as was concluded by the KAS.
