ata_maliTIRANA – European Parliament has decided to vote on February 14 the resolution on the basis of the report prepared by rapporteur Knut Fleckenstein and approved by Foreign Committee, ATA news agency reported.

The vote of report and resolution comes only 5 months away from the June 18 parliamentary elections, which along with justice reform are regarded as a pre-requisite for European integration.

EP Committee on Foreign Affairs approved on January 31 the draft resolution on Albania. It commended the ongoing progress of EU-related reforms, in particular the constitutional amendments that pave the way for radical and comprehensive reform of justice system, ATA reported.

However, Albania needs to implement credibly the EU-related reforms and ensure that June parliamentary elections will be free and fair  in order for the accession negotiations to be opened, according to the resolution.
