TIRANA – Prime Minister Edi Rama asserted Monday that the governing majority will hold parliamentary elections on June 18 with or without the participation of the centre-right opposition, ATA reports.
“The ruling majority will enter the parliamentary elections, even alone if necessary,” the governing Socialist Party leader Edi Rama stated at a meeting of his party’s parliamentary group.
Rama was quoted as saying that “the country will hold polls with or without opposition.”
Rama has also asked Socialist MPs to attend the regular session of the Parliament on Thursday when lawmakers are expected to vote on the presidential decree appointing four new cabinet members.
A majority of 71 votes is required to confirm the nomination of new cabinet members.
