SKOPJE – The President of the European Council, Donald Tusk will be visiting Macedonia next week, however the visit has yet to be confirmed officially, Meta reports.

The exact date when Tusk will be arriving is still unknown. Details of the date and agenda will be announced on Friday, Meta has learned.

Various diplomatic sources say the purpose for his visit to Macedonia is due to frequent warnings of a possible new wave of refugees because of strained relations between the EU and Turkey and threats to terminate the agreement between Ankara and Brussels for migrants, but also, the deepening of the political crisis in Macedonia.

This will be Tusk’s third visit to Macedonia in the last two years, since the refugee crisis began.
