BELGRADE – Slovenia’s Mateja Norčič Stamčar has been appointed new deputy head of the EU Delegation to Serbia, Tanjug has learned.

Slovenian Ambassador Vladimir Gasparic on Monday announced Norčič Stamčar would assume a post in the EU Delegation, but did not elaborate.

He presented to her a copy of Ivo Andrćc’s novel The Bridge on the Drina.

Norčič Stamčar has served as charge d’affaires and deputy head of mission at the Slovenian embassy in Belgrade.

With Norčič Stamčar set to succeed Oscar Benedict, the EU mission to Serbia will have a completely new leadership team since Italian Sem Fabrizi, the new mission head, will soon arrive in Belgrade.
