BELGRADE – Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić received US Ambassador Kyle Scott Thursday to discuss the topics of his July 17 visit to the US, Tanjug reports.

They agreed Vučić’s discussions with Vice President Mike Pence and officials from the US administration would be a strong boost to development of bilateral ties between the two countries.

Vučić and Scott said the bilateral relations were on an upward trajectory and that the US was providing continued support for Serbia’s efforts to meet the requirements for EU membership, strengthen the rule of law, modernise the economy and become a pillar of stability in the region.

Assessing the regional situation, they expressed the hope relations in the Western Balkans would develop towards peace, stability and cooperation.

They noted the significance of a resumption of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and the Brussels Agreement.
