PODGORICA – At its 59th session, the Cabinet approved the Montenegro Economic Reform Programme 2018-2020.

Economic Reform Programme is Montenegro’s most important document in terms of economic dialogue with the European Commission and EU member states aiming to achieve a sustainable and inclusive economic growth and improvement of the quality of life of all citizens of Montenegro, Coordinator of the Working Team for Drafting the Economic Reform Programme Nina Vujošević told the press conference following the Cabinet session.

She stressed that the Economic Reform Programme contains a medium-term macroeconomic framework, as well as a fiscal framework that includes accompanying fiscal policy measures and a structural reform agenda in nine areas including 20 priority reform measures in line with the European Commission’s methodology for the drafting of the document.

Vujošević said that a sustainable and inclusive economic growth that will contribute to reducing the development gap between Montenegro and the EU is the strategic development goal defined by the document.

“The programme aims to upgrade or continue what we have defined as an objective in strategic development documents and in the Economic Reform Program for the previous year, namely a sustainable and inclusive economic growth that will contribute to reducing the development gap between Montenegro and the European Union, thus contributing to faster GDP growth per capita, as the most important indicator of living standards in the EU,” Coordinator of the Working Group for Drafting Economic Reform Programme Nina Vujošević concluded.
