If one takes a look at the most recent Forbes’ “30 under 30” list, as well as recent major awards, it is apparent that talents, creativity, and determination are not lacking in the Western Balkans. More and more companies are investing and externalizing activities in the region.
Some cities have become hubs for co-working adepts, working retreats and popular bases for digital nomads. All of these are encouraging signs. Yet, the situation is still far from being ideal, especially for local entrepreneurs.
Balkanoscope spoke with three entrepreneurs: Sanja Korić from Konjic, Bosnia and Herzegovina; Uranik Begu from Pristina, Kosovo; and Lazar Mugoša from Podgorica, Montenegro, about the situation on the local level.
