Gent Cakaj to become new Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania

TIRANA – Gent Cakaj will replace Ditmir Bushati as the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania. Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that the cabinet needs to be “refreshed” and thanked Bushati for his service, the media reported.

Cakaj served as a political adviser to the Prime Minister before becoming a Deputy Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs. Prior to that, he worked for civil society as a consultant. He was educated in Kosovo, Belgium and Hungary, and holds two bachelorʼs and three masterʼs degrees in philosophy, political sciences, and law.
