TANJUG_maliBELGRADE – The European Commission has approved 7.3 mln euros more for Serbia in aid for migration management – the funds will go to the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Veteran and Social Affairs, the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration and the Ministry of Interior.

This is direct EU support for the Serbian budget, the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Veteran and Social Affairs said in a statement, adding that Minister Aleksandar Vulin had met with the head of the EU Delegation to Serbia, Michael Davenport.

The support is a part of the EU’s new, 12 mln euro package designed to support Serbia in dealing with the challenge of migrations in 2017.

The total EU aid extended to Serbia in this field since the onset of the migrant crisis to date exceeds 50 mln euros.
