TANJUG_maliBELGRADE – At Thursday’s press conference following a handover of 82 vehicles donated to the Serbian Interior Ministry, Christian Danielsson, the European Commission’s Director General for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations said he was satisfied with the cooperation on tackling the migrant crisis and the way Serbian authorities viewed and handled the issue, Serbian news agency Tanjug reports.

The EU will continue to help Serbia to deal with the crisis and strengthen border control, he said.

EU assistance to Serbia for this purpose has totalled about 50 mln euros over the past two years, Danielsson said.

Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said 2,300 people smugglers had been arrested in Serbia during the migrant crisis.
