BRUSSELS – The European Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, together with the three MEPs Eduard Kukan, Ivo Vajgl and Knut Fleckenstein will be visiting Skopje on Tuesday, confirmed today the spokesperson for the European Commission, Maja Kocijančič, Meta reports.
“As you can see on the agenda, I can confirm that Commissioner Hahn is travelling to Skopje on Tuesday, which is March the 21st, together with three MEPs that you know very well, Fleckenstein, Kukan and Vajgl. They will together meet with representatives of all parliamentary parties as well as President Ivanov. They will repeat the strong message from the EU to respect the outcome of the elections and to allow the democratic process to proceed and to rapidly form a government that will continue to implement the Przino Agreement”, said Kocijančič.
She reminded that yesterday, at the Western Balkans Six Leader Summit in Sarajevo, Commissioner Hahn outlined the importance of regional cooperation and warned about the risk of fueling the tensions, including inter ethnic by statements or actions which could undermine good neighbourly relations.
When asked whether it would be necessary to prepare a “Przino 3” Agreement Kocijančič noted that the Commission’s position is that the Przino Agreement should be fully implemented.
“We believe that among the things that need to happen is that the Przino Agreement, as you know it, should be implemented”, said Kocijančič.
