Three other laws of Albanian judicial reform package in Parliament on Thursday

TIRANA – The Albanian Parliament is expected to discuss three more draft laws on the judicial reform package on Thursday’s session following the adoption of 7 out of 27 draft laws on the reform package in order to regulate the functioning of the justice system institutions, after implementation of the constitutional reform, ATA reports.

The Parliament session agenda includes discussion of amendments to the law “On the declaration and audit of assets and financial obligations of elected officials and certain civil servants,” amendments to the law “On measures against financing terrorism,” and “On prevention of money laundering and funding of terrorism.”

The above draft laws approval requires a simple majority voting, unlike the 84 qualified majority votes necessary to approval of 7 draft laws of the last plenary session.

The session agenda includes also the final report of the parliamentary inquiry commission on verification of legislation implementation of the Power Distribution System Operator privatization procedures, CEZ, as well as voting of three draft resolutions “on assessing the activity of the Public Administration Department in 2016, the Commissioner on Civil Service Supervision and the draft resolution on evaluation of the Radio and Television Broadcasting activity.

Parliament’s Thursday session will again convene without the opposition MPs whose rally continues in front of the Prime Minister’s office demanding establishment of a caretaker government to guarantee free and fair elections.
