TIRANA – The dialogue with Belgrade will be continued only if it recognises Kosovo’s independence, says Ramush Haradinaj, a former “Kosovo Liberation Army” commander and a candidate for new Kosovo PM, Tanjug reports.
Haradinaj said this in a statement to Albania’s Top Channel TV, in response to a question about his plans for the dialogue with Belgrade in case he secured a majority to form a cabinet following Sunday’s early elections for the Kosovo assembly.
The framework of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue so far has been wrong because Kosovo’s internal affairs have been on the agenda, said Haradinaj.
“I am interested in the dialogue with Serbia, but with the aim of mutual recognition. We do not accept discussions about Kosovo’s internal affairs. If Serbia does not rethink its decision on recognition, we will not be chasing a dialogue on Kosovo’s internal affairs,” he said.
