First session of EU-Kosovo Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee

PRISTINA – The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, this morning will receive members of Delegation to the EU-Kosovo Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee headed by Tonino Picula, MEP and former Foreign Minister of Croatia.

This morning delegation had meeting with  Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, who will also participate later in a working session of the EU-Kosovo Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee in Assembly of Kosovo.

In 2002, the European Parliament decided to initiate informal interparliamentary relations with Kosovo. The official relations with the Parliamentary Assembly of Kosovo started in May 2008, following the declaration of independence.

European Parliament, for a long time, have a joint committee for the potential candidate countries – Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo. After the entry into force of the SAA, Delegation for relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo, split in two.
