BELGRADE – The European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Serbian government on Monday signed a financial contract on the upgrading of judiciary buildings.
It was signed by Serbian Minister of Finance Dušan Vujović and EIB VP Dario Scannapieco, after Scannapieco’s meeting with Serbian PM Aleksandar Vučić, the EIB said in a statement.
It is a 26 mln euro second tranche of a loan totalling 41 mln euros aiming to upgrade judiciary buildings, the statement said.
The funds are designated for the modernization of judiciary buildings in Serbia, such as the Palace of Justice and the court building in Kataniceva St in Belgrade, as part of the National Judicial Reform Strategy.
Since 2011, EIB has financed nearly 30 projects in Serbia – investments worth 1.7 bln euro, making a significant contribution to job creation and infrastructure modernization, the statement said.
