Statement of Cristian Dan Preda, European Parliament's standing rapporteur on BiH on confirmation of the Council of Ministers

BRUSSELS, 1.04.2015. – I welcome the confirmation of the Council of Ministers of BiH yesterday and I would like to congratulate Prime Minister Zvizdic and his team.

Almost 6 months have been lost with putting in place the new authorities, who will now have to implement substantial reforms in order to put the country on track for eventual EU membership. They will have to show courage and determination in tackling these difficult reforms that are needed, first and foremost, for the benefit of the people in BiH.

I would also like to express my hope that the formation of government will mark the beginning of a new way of doing politics in BiH, where building consensus on reforms will prevail over political disagreements, and proper involvement of the citizens and of the civil society in the decision-making process will become the rule.
