Kocijančič: Political leaders to calm down the tensions

BRUSSELS – In a statement flowing election of Hashim Thaçi for the President of Kosovo, EEAS Spokesperson Maja Kocijančič sad that the Assembly of Kosovo elected President in a tense and divisive atmosphere.

“The scenes we have witnessed yesterday in the Assembly on such an occasion are extremely worrying” said Kcijančič. For her, acts of violence in any form and by anyone are unacceptable and inflammatory rhetoric only deepens the divide and makes a dialogue more difficult.

EU expect political leaders of Kosovo “to act responsibly and to collectively calm down the tensions” conclude Kocijančič.
