Chairman Zvizdić met with Director Genoveve Ruiz Calavera

SARAJEVO – Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Denis Zvizdić met with Director for Western Balkans in the European Commission General Directorate for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Genoveve Ruiz Calavera, whom he informed of the current political and economic developments in BIH and implementation of the requirements BIH needs to fulfil on its way to the European Union.

Chairman Zvizdić informed Director Calavere of the preparations for the Western Balkans Prime Ministers’ Summit, to take place in Sarajevo this March.

He said it would be a chance to prepare joint projects to be offered at the Western Balkans Summit to be held in Trieste this July.

Referring to the fulfilment of answers to the Questionnaire BIH received from the European Commission, Chairman Zvizdić said that all administrative levels of authority and all institutions, except for Republika Srpska, have timely provided their high quality answers, and that the Direction for European Integrations works on the preparation of materials to be the subject of final harmonisation though planned structures. He expressed his hope that answers from the RS will be provided soon, so that single answers might be presented on behalf of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Chairman Zvizdić and Director Calavere agreed that Bosnia and Herzegovina needs to continue reconciliation and regional cooperation processes. Chairman Zvizdić said that the Council of Ministers of BIH will continue to work on economic development of BIH, strengthening of business environment and improvement of living standard o BIH citizens.

The meeting was attended by Head of Delegation of the European Union and Special Representative of the EU in BH Lars Gunnar Wigemark.
