PRISTINA – The president of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, on his Facebook page, as a reaction to President Gjorge Ivanov’s decision not to give the mandate for forming a government, wrote that the political occurrences in Macedonia are disturbing and that Macedonia is losing the meaning of a functional state without equal rights for the Albanians.
“The development of the political happenings in Macedonia is very disturbing. President Ivanov has misused the Constitution and the laws with his anti-Albanian, hostile approach towards those that represent a third of the citizens in this country. With this decision, president Ivanov buried the democracy, by ignoring the will of the citizens, the Constitution, and the laws, and he even buried the Ohrid agreement. The Albanians in Macedonia are a constitutive nation and Macedonia should be a state for all of its citizens. Without equal rights for the Albanians in Macedonia, it loses the meaning of a functional state. In the end, the Albanians should take the destiny of their rights in their own hands,” said Thaçi
