PODGORICA – The most important thing at the moment is to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation on Russia’s involvement in Montenegro during election-day events. This investigation will be a strong indicator of progress when it comes to building rule of law in the state, said member of European Parliament Tanja Fajon to Pobjeda daily. She said that it was irresponsible from opposition to boycott the Parliament and that their attitude does not help the crisis, CdM reports.
„I am worried due to political crisis in Montenegro. For a progress-oriented state, boycott is not a good sign. Active parliament working in spirit of democracy is a hallmark of healthy society. It is irresponsible to boycott this institution. EU has a clear attitude, and it wants to see opposition return to the Parliament and work on resolution of the crisis through dialogue“, Fajon said for Pobjeda daily.
Speaking of the attempted terrorist attack, Fajon said:
„The most important thing at the moment is to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation on Russia’s involvement in Montenegro during election-day events. This investigation will be a strong indicator of progress when it comes to building rule of law in the state. Until then, I am in no position to speculate on Russia’s involvement, terrorist attacks, etc”, she said.
