meta_maliWASHINGTON – “The United States has encouraged the Macedonian leaders to do everything they can to form a government without further delay so that the country can continue with the reforms necessary to become a full member of the Euro-Atlantic family”, said a statement by the US State Department regarding the political crisis in Macedonia given to the Voice of America, Meta reports.

The statement also says that “Macedonian citizens elected parliamentary representatives in December, and there is a clear majority in Parliament, waiting to form a government.”

“Politicians who try to block the formation of the government devalue the rule of law, democratic processes and the stability in Macedonia and the region beyond. We will work with our European partners to encourage these politicians to stop their obstruction, including taking responsibility for their actions”, reads the statement.
