BRUSSELS – EU Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Hahn announced in Brussels on Tuesday that he was expecting two new chapters in Serbia’s EU accession talks to be opened in June, Tanjug reports.
That is how we will continue in the second part of the year, Hahn said on the sidelines of a conference on the EU and the Western Balkans, organised by the European People’s Party.
On the other hand, EU Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Hahn will pay an official visit to Serbia on Thursday.
Hahn is scheduled to attend an investment conference in Belgrade.
The goal is to demonstrate and prove our commitment to the economic programme, Hahn said in Brussels.
Economic progress is one of the pillars of EU activities in the Western Balkans’ EU integration process, he said.
We are either exporting stability or importing instability – the EU has a great interest when it comes to stability in the region, Hahn said.
After Belgrade, Hahn will visit Montenegro on Friday.
He is scheduled to speak at the June 10-11 Europa-Forum Wachau, to also be attended by Serbia’s Acting PM and FM Ivica Dacic.
