BRUSSELS – Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said after meeting with Federica Mogherini in Brussels on Wednesday the EU foreign policy and security chief had expressed strong support for acceleration of Serbia’s EU path.

“We agreed that stability and peace are the most significant for Serbia and for the EU,” Vučić told reporters.

Vučić and Mogherini met at the European Commission headquarters.

Previously, Mogherini’s office announced the fundamental topics of the meeting would be Serbia-EU relations, Serbia’s progress on the EU path, the situation in the region and the dialogue on normalisation of Belgrade-Pristina relations.

Vucic is also scheduled to meet bilaterally with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg and attend a North Atlantic Council meeting at the alliance’s headquarters in Brussels.
