BELGRADE – European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker will visit Belgrade on Monday, February 26, as part of a tour of the Western Balkans to confirm the European perspective of the region, head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Sem Fabrizi said on Wednesday.

Fabrizi announced this during a meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, who noted the visit was very significant for Serbian citizens and a confirmation the country was firmly on the European path.

Serbia understands no one is guaranteeing that 2025 is set as the definite date of its EU accession, but it is a significant encouragement and a recognition for the positive things we have done so far, Vučić said.

“Many obstacles lie ahead for Serbia on the European path, but we are ready to work diligently on accomplishing difficult tasks,” the presidential press office quoted him as saying.
