BANJA LUKA – Member of the European Parliament and Rapporteur for Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Cristian Dan Preda emphasized today that fight against corruption is the main condition for BiH to become a member of the European Union (EU).

Fena reports that Preda reiterated that the remaining conditions for BiH to join the Union are “free media and the existence of governments that work for their citizens, not for their interests”.

According to Preda, “now there is a clear opportunity for the countries of the Western Balkans in terms of European integration, and that the situation also applies to BiH,” adding that “if BiH fulfills the mentioned conditions, it could become a member of the EU 2025, and maybe even earlier”.

Fena says that Preda is participating in an international ministerial conference on the topic of European integration of BiH and countries of the region organized by the BiH Foreign Ministry in Banja Luka.
